As the Sun is powering up, it is time to put your blankets away in closets. Except ours of course. We use ours year round! However, if you don't really have the option of the closet, before stacking them up you should consider the following storage alternatives because a plastic bag doesn’t really justify proper maintenance. So, we have formed a list of the best possible ways to store the blankets & bedding.
But first, dry up the things
This by far, is the most important aspect you should assure to take care of. Before storing your bedding, soft Minky blankets, or sheets let them be 100% moisture-free because a little wetness would be a catalyst for an odor and mold problem.

Best Storing Options We Have
A closet without a question is a perfect place to store blankets as good airflow and cool temperatures there will keep them safe throughout the summers from mold, mildew, and bugs. However, if you don’t have the option of using a linen closet then you can try these blanket storage options instead.
Blanket Storage Bags
Blanket storage bags or vacuum storage bags can be found anywhere. But, the best choice is cotton bags as they do not let the dust settle on blankets and also keeps bugs out. Most importantly, their breathability allows moisture to escape, which prevents mold from forming.
And the best part, anything you put inside would be folded neatly and tightly.
Thus, they act as a good alternative option against the closet but they can't be advised to use when it comes to handling more delicate blankets or bedding like goose feather bedding or heirloom quilts.
Blanket Storage Basket
Baskets let you keep your collection of blankets neat, organized, and would be a good choice in case; you need easy access to your blankets or have to transport them during a move.
But, they can't be considered as a long-term storage option as you may struggle to find the right size or one with enough protection.

Blanket Storage Chests
If you owned the collection of heirlooms or delicate bedding, a storage chest is the only way to go for long-term storage. Chests provide enough protection from bugs, dust, and moisture and are very practical.
Pro-tip: A cedar blanket storage chest is the best choice for long-term storage.
Additional Tip:
Mothballs, well they do work great with clothes but oftentimes, mothballs leave blankets with a bad odor that indeed could be difficult to get rid of.
